Wars and Conflicts and Harm to the Environment
Proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations, under its resolution 456/4 dated November 5, 2001, on November 6 of each year as the International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict.
Although humans are always counting the number of casualties of war dead and wounded among the soldiers and civilians, including the destroyed cities and livelihoods, the environment remains, in many cases, the victim of undeclared wars. It has been contaminating water wells, and burned crops and cut forests and poisoned soil animals were killed to achieve military gains.
