International Day for the Protection of the Ozone Layer
World Day to preserve the ozone layer in the sixteenth of September of each year , the day in which they occurred more than 190 countries of the Montreal Protocol in 1987 , which defines the procedures to be followed at the global, regional and local levels to phase out substances that deplete the ozone layer.
The General Assembly of the United Nations has declared this day of days each year globally to keep the ozone layer and so on the anniversary of the signing of the Protocol and the General Assembly called on states to dedicate this day to encourage activities consistent with the objectives of the Protocol and its amendments .
According to the agreement signed by the countries mentioned is committed to the States Parties concerned gradually reduce the consumption of substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer to 85% by 2007 and up to the total phase-out by 2010 .
